The Number System

The Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Number System boils down to four basic pillars: Whole Numbers & Decimals: Knowing how to read, order, and round big numbers (up to 1,000,000) and small decimals (to 3 decimal places), plus working with negative numbers. Number Rules: Recognizing patterns like factors, multiples, prime numbers, and square numbers. Fractions, Decimals, & %: Being able to swap between them easily, find a fraction/percentage of an amount, and use simple ratios. Calculations: Doing long multiplication and division, using the correct order of operations (BIDMAS), and estimating to check if an answer makes sense.
